After launching at Peninsula Hot Springs in 2006, Mākoha has been accredited by both the Massage Association of Australia and Māori Advisory Board. 

With international recognition and collaboration with 'Air New Zealand', Mākoha Wellness has long been showcased as the signature wellness massage of Aoteraroa. 

Since the first breath of indigenous Aoteraoa, mirimiri has been utilised for natural healing and holistic wellness, and was reawakened in 1973 with Pungaērērē.

Miri Miri?

Mākoha mirimiri techniques incorporate elements of heat, rongoā, water, kohātu (stone), and steam that awaken the body's self healing mechanisms. 

The therapeutic techniques aid in relaxation to support lymphatic drainage, and stimulate receptors of the vagus nerve to help destress and reduce burnout.

ākoha te haka deep tissue miri miri helps to release muscle tension. Te wae wae acknowledges the vibration and frequency, as well as assisting with breath and centering.
